Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Your videos never leave your device. CliAura processes everything client-side in your browser using WebGPU and WebAssembly. We cannot see, access, or store your video content.

1. What We Process Locally (On Your Device)

The following data is processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to our servers:

• Video and audio files you drop into the app
• AI analysis results (BPM detection, phrase segmentation, viral scoring)
• Generated captions, hashtags, and titles
• Cinematic effects and mastering processing
• Exported clips and thumbnails

This data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB and Origin Private File System (OPFS). It stays on your device and is accessible only to you.

2. What We Collect (Minimal)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. Plausible collects:

• Page views (which pages are visited)
• Referrer (where visitors come from)
• Browser and device type
• Country (from IP, not stored)

Plausible does not use cookies, does not track individuals across sites, and does not collect personal information. We self-host our Plausible instance at analytics.perezpriego.com.

3. Optional Third-Party Integrations

These features are entirely opt-in. If you choose to use them, data is transmitted to third-party services:

Nextcloud Sync

If you connect your Nextcloud account, exported clips and metadata are synced to YOUR Nextcloud server. We do not operate the Nextcloud server — you do. Your Nextcloud credentials are stored in your browser's localStorage.

Social Media Posting (Ayrshare)

If you use the distribution feature with an Ayrshare API key, your video clips and post content are transmitted to Ayrshare's servers for posting to social media platforms. Your Ayrshare API key is stored in your browser's localStorage.

AI Model Downloads

Certain features (Whisper speech recognition, CLIP visual analysis, Stable Diffusion) download AI models from Hugging Face's CDN on first use. These models are cached in your browser after download. The model download requests are standard HTTPS requests visible to Hugging Face.

4. Cookies

CliAura does not use cookies. We use localStorage for session persistence and feature preferences. This data never leaves your browser.

5. Data Retention

Since all processing data stays on your device, you control retention. Clear your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage to remove all CliAura data. We retain no server-side copies of your content.

6. GDPR Compliance

CliAura is designed for privacy by default. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, most GDPR obligations are inherently satisfied. Our analytics (Plausible) is GDPR-compliant without requiring consent banners.

7. Children's Privacy

CliAura is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Security

Your data is protected by your browser's same-origin policy. API keys stored in localStorage are accessible only to the cliaura.com origin. We recommend using app-specific passwords for Nextcloud integration rather than your main account password.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
